Hon. Rowland Charles Sekibo, Executive Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area who doubles as the flag bearer of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 17 Local Government election in the State, was Awarded a DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD by the Female Youth Supporters (FYS); an affiliate socio-political group of the party on Friday, 5th March, 2021.
Coordinator of the group in the Local Government, Comrade Tonye Victoria Douglas who was accompanied by the state ex-officio, Mrs. Ibioku Enia Harris Whyte and other executive members while presenting the Award, acknowledged Hon. Rowland Charles Sekibo as a rare breed in Akuku-Toru politics:
"Mr. Chairman, we are here in solidarity on your emergence as the flag bearer of our great party, PDP, in the forthcoming Local Government election and also to declare our unflinching support for your candidature.
"You've changed the narrative in governance and we are proud of your extraordinary achievements in the Local Government. You're a rare breed in Akuku-Toru politics.
"In recognition of your true visionary with exceptionally leadership skills, following your magnificent and outstanding achievements, and contributions to the enhancement of: Human Capacity Development and Sports, Environmental Sanitation and Security, Health and Education, Electricity and Social Welfare in your first tenure in Office.
" We hereby present to you, a DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD for distinguishing yourself amongst other leaders thereby rendering purposeful services for the interest of the masses.
"We have tenaciously resolved to support your candidature and ensure your re-election victory at the polls through a democratic process on 17th April, 2021, she said.
