HON. ROWLAND CHARLES SEKIBO BAGS CAPTAIN ELECHI AMADI POLYTECHNIC AWARD OF HONOUR, STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT (SUG).

HON. ROWLAND CHARLES SEKIBO BAGS CAPTAIN ELECHI AMADI POLYTECHNIC AWARD OF HONOUR, STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT (SUG).

Yesterday, I was privileged to represent my principal, the indefatigable and historic Award winning Local Government Executive Chairman in Akuku-Toru Local Government, Rivers State and Niger Delta Region at large, Hon. Rowland Charles Sekibo  JP, as his Special Assistant On Education in marking the Award Ceremony of the Student Union Government (SUG) at the prestigious Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Port-Harcourt Metropolis as a GUEST OF HONOUR.

The intellectually armed leadership in the revered institution ably led by Comr Ayanrinde B. Alex , received my entourage in warmth reception and hospitality to the Aluta House where in time immemorial such famous honour is been done.

Comrade Ayanrinde Alex, SUG President, Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, noted while presenting the award that my political Apostle, Hon. Rowland Charles Sekibo remains the pride of the Student Community and the face of democracy in grassroots politics in Nigeria:

"Here in this citadel of learning, we are mainly focused on rewarding men of characters with outstanding records which has impacted and invested meaningfully in human growths. This is another way of spurring them to sustain such great feats.

"In this dispensation of Nigeria politics and governance; in your first tenure, you were able to achieve what seem impossible to your counterparts in other Local Government Areas and seemingly difficult to execute by some Governors in this Country. You deserve more appreciations from Nigerian Youth and Student leaders.

"We have testimonies of Akulga Students on our campus who are beneficiaries of your twenty thousand naira (#20, 000) bursary scheme and during the COVID-19 pandemic, you sponsored the Rivers State Students (NURSS NATIONAL) maiden ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION and our Students benefitted winsomely from your one-year Scholarship Scheme, laptop and tablets gifts; the best way to encourage Education and reward academic Excellence, respectively.

"Your human capacity and sustainable capital Developmental projects is second to none in our today grassroots politics in Nigeria. You're a builder of young intellects whose root can easily be traced to Students activism.

"It's in recognition of your good work in the Students Community at large, following your immense contributions to the enhancement and advancement of: Health and Education, Electricity and Social Welfare, Human Capacity Development and Sports, Environmental Sanitation and Security in your first tenure in Office that we present this meritorious Award of Honour to you dated this day: 6th March, 2021. Congratulations!, he said

In response, I thanked the Student Union Government (SUG) leadership of the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic who in consultation with the School Management has deemed it necessary to reward result oriented visionary grassroots leaders that are poised in delivering democratic dividends to their constituents inline with the objective of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mr. President, thank you for finding my principal worthy to be honoured in such an auspicious epoch making day. He will continue to prioritize top-notch monumental projects that will benefit the masses for the socioeconomic development of the LGA.

Thank you, for this too will serve as an  encouragement to consolidate on his previous achievements, to attract more sustainable projects to people of our constituents.

My principal had said it in different fora that he will not disappoint Akulgans in his covenant with them. This is just a little of an iceberg.

In this second term administration, he will continue to sustain existing relationship with the Students community in providing welfare support for Students, especially payment of Bursary to indigenous Students of the LGA, Free Holiday Classes, Scholarship and other Students Developmental projects which is in continuum.
